Marriage Mentoring
Wedding Rings
This program is designed to aid couples getting married and couples struggling in marriage. Once a couple decides to get married or they need help within a marriage, they contact the church and get placed with a mentor couple. The mentor couple is trained and equipped to mentor in every area of marriage. They have the couple fill out a survey that captures all the issues/concerns they may have with each other. The survey then is used to aid the mentors in addressing the largest areas of concern. There is also a facilitating book that is designed to aid the mentors. This facilitator is equipped with all the questions a counselor would ask. The duration of the classes is 1½ hours per evening. The mentoring occurs one night a week up to eight weeks.

In summary, this program has been very powerful, and our feedback from all couples going through it is life-changing.

Pastors and their wives are not required to participate in mentoring, but are welcome. In most cases, all the mentors are lay people. This removes a large burden from most of the staff, as there is an overwhelming need for marriage counseling in most churches.
