National Day of Prayer, always the first Thursday in May, is a day set aside by law for everyone to unite in prayer for our country. It is our opportunity to publicly come before the throne of God and cry out for our nation, our leaders, our communities, our families, our youth, and our schools.

Although people of all faiths are encouraged to pray, we follow the guidelines of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, chaired by Mrs. Shirley Dodson. This means that, "Our expression of involvement is specifically limited to the Judeo-Christian heritage and to those who share that conviction." If you are interested in more information, their website can answer most questions that you may have about the National Day of Prayer. Please visit: www.ndptf.org

Our desire, locally, is to acquaint as many people as possible with the National Day of Prayer (NDP) and to provide opportunities to gather for prayer in as many communities as possible. If you live or work in a community that does not observe NDP and you would like information about hosting a gathering, please call or fax Dori Duncan at (309) 762-3107, or e-mail Brenda Schaefer at Brenda@qcprayercenter.org.
